Judge Todd M. Fellman: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Hon. Todd M. Fellman is a judge for the 4th Judicial District Court of Minnesota in Hennepin County. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Mark Dayton in 2019.

Prior to his appointment, Fellman was a senior assistant county attorney with the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office (2013 to 2019). He first joined the office as an assistant county attorney in 1993.

Fellman received a B.A. from the College of St. Thomas in 1990. He went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Minnesota Law School in 1993.

His memberships have included the Minnesota District Judges Foundation, the Minnesota District Judges Association, the National District Attorney’s Association, and the Minnesota County Attorney’s Association. Fellman was also co-chair of the Domestic Violence Steering Committee.

He taught as an adjunct professor at Michell Hamline School of Law.

Fellman has served as a volunteer for the Orono public schools and at his local animal rescue shelter.
