Judge Suzan L. Clark - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Suzan L. Clark is a judge for the Clark County Superior Court in Washington. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Jay Inslee on May 13, 2013.

Clark earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon in 1983. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Oregon School of Law in 1986.

After graduating from law school, Clark began her legal career as a deputy prosecuting attorney for the Cowlitz County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. She then transferred to the Clark County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office two years later.

Then, in 1994, Clark entered into private practice. She represented indigent defendants in criminal matters while also handling civil and family law cases. During this time, Clark sat as a commissioner pro tempore for the Clark County Superior Court (1999 to 2013).

Her memberships have included the Clark County Bar Association (president).
