Judge Stacy L. Cook - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Stacy L. Cook is a judge for the General Division of the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas in Ohio. She was initially elected to the bench on November 7, 2006.

Cook has brought a drug court model to the individualized drug court docket of the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas.

Prior to her election, Cook sat as an acting judge for the Maumee Municipal Court, a position to which she was selected in 2002. She also spent twelve years as an attorney in private practice, handling civil and criminal matters.

Cook earned a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Toledo College of Law. As a law student, Cook worked as a law clerk for the Toledo Municipal Court, rising through the ranks to become the Supervising Law Clerk.

Her memberships have included the Toledo Bar Association and the Toledo Women’s Bar Association. She also sat on the Opioid Coalition as well as the boards of TARTA and AWAKE.

Cook is a resident of Monclova Township. She is married to the Hon. Gary G. Cook, a judge for the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas. They have three children.

She is registered as a Democrat.
