The Hon. Tom Shea is a hearing officer for the 14th Judicial District Family & Juvenile Court of Louisiana in Calcasieu Parish.
Shea serves as a hearing officer to the Hon. W. Mitchell Redd in Division A.
He received a bachelor’s degree in business from Ithaca College in 2006. Shea then completed a J.D. at Louisiana State University, Paul M. Hebert Law Center (2010) and an LL.M. in taxation at Villanova University, Charles Widger School of Law (2018).
He is the founding member of Tom Shea Family Law in Lake Charles, where he handles family law matters, including divorce, community property, child custody, child support, spousal support, relocation, estate planning, and wills.
Shea is a past president of the Southwest Louisiana Bar Foundation Board of Directors, the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association Executive Council, and the Family Law Section of the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association.
He is also a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and served as special counsel to the Louisiana State Boxing and Wrestling Commission.
From a civic standpoint, Shea has been involved with the Louisiana State High School Mock Trial Competition, the Southwest Louisiana Arts and Humanities Council, and the Kiwanis Club of South Lake Charles. In addition, he has volunteered his time for Wills for Heroes and Lawyers in Libraries.
