The Hon. Sharon I. Marchman is a judge for the 4th Judicial District Court of Louisiana. She was elected to the bench in 2000 and re-elected in 2002, 2008, 2014, and 2020.
The 4th Judicial District encompasses Ouachita Parish and Morehouse Parish.
Marchman earned a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in 1982. She then completed a J.D. at Louisiana State University, Paul M. Hebert Law Center, in 1985.
After graduating from law school, Marchman began her legal career as a judicial law clerk for the Louisiana 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal. She served in that capacity until 1987, at which time she entered into private practice.
Her memberships have included the Louisiana District Judges Association and the 4th Judicial District Bar Association.
She is a recipient of the Jake Hadley Award from the Louisiana Association of Drug Court Professionals (2008).
Marchman and her husband, David, have two children.
She is registered as a Republican.
