The Hon. Ronald F. Ware (Ret.) is a former judge for the 14th Judicial District Court of Louisiana in Calcasieu Parish. He was elected to the bench in 2008. Ware retired in 2020.
He received a bachelor’s degree from Prairie View A&M University in 1976. Ware then completed a J.D. at Lewis & Clark Law School in 1980.
He began his legal career as an assistant district attorney with the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office in 1981. Five years later, Ware joined the Public Defender’s Office in Calcasieu Parish, where he worked as a staff attorney until his promotion to executive director in 2000. He continued in that capacity until his election to the bench.
Ware draws inspiration from his late father, Dennis, who served as a local civil rights leader, elected official, and educator at W.O. Boston.
Following his retirement, he served as an ad hoc judge in Division F of the 14th Judicial District Court.
He is registered as a Democrat.
