The Hon. Robert H. Morrison, III (Ret.) is a former judge for the 21st Judicial District Court of Louisiana. He was elected to the bench in 1988. Morrison retired in 2020.
The 21st Judicial District includes the Livingston, St. Helena, and Tangipahoa Parishes. During his judicial tenure, Morrison spent twenty-nine years as Chief Judge of the 21st Judicial District.
He received a bachelor’s degree from Rhodes College. Morrison then completed a J.D. at Louisiana State University, Paul M. Hebert Law Center. He was admitted to practice in Louisiana in 1970.
Morrison began his legal career as an associate at Nesom, Mellon, Cavanaugh & Due, where he would later be named partner. Then, in 1974, he ventured into solo practice at his own law firm. Two years later, Morrison became a partner at Fayard, Morrison & Kuhn, remaining with the firm until his election to the bench.
He received the Calogero Justice Award from the Louisiana Bar Foundation in 2013.
