The Hon. Mansi J. Shah is a judge for the 13th Judicial District Court of Virginia.
The 13th Judicial District encompasses the City of Richmond.
Prior to her election, Shah was an assistant commonwealth’s attorney for the Henrico County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, a position to which she was named in 2018. Before that, she spent time as a partner at Bowen, Shah & Clements (2017 to 2018) as well as a sole practitioner in her own private practice (2014 to 2016).
Shah earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and women’s studies from the University of Richmond in 2001. She then completed a J.D. at American University Washington College of Law in 2005.
After graduating from law school, Shah began her legal career as an assistant public defender with the Alexandria Public Defender’s Office. She served in that capacity until 2009, at which time she transferred to the Richmond Public Defender’s Office.
