The Hon. Lisa M. Woodruff-White (Ret.) is a former judge for the East Baton Rouge Parish Family Court in Louisiana. She was elected to the bench in 2008. Woodruff-White retired in 2022.
She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana. Woodruff-White then completed a J.D. at Southern University Law Center in 1989. She was admitted to practice in Louisiana the following year.
In 2004, she received an appointment by former Governor Kathleen Blanco to serve as deputy secretary of the Louisiana Department of Social Services, where she was tasked with supervising the General Counsel, Appeals, and Civil Rights Divisions. Woodruff-White remained there until her election to the bench. Before that, she spent three years as the statewide director of the Louisiana Child Support Program (2001 to 2004).
Woodruff-White has chaired the Child Support Committee of the Louisiana State Law Institute and the Louisiana Child Support Guidelines Review Committee. She also served on the Executive Committee of the Louisiana District Judges Association and was a member of the Louisiana Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, the Self-Represented Litigant’s Committee, and the Pro Bono Services Committees of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Baton Rouge Bar Association.
Additionally, Woodruff-White was a former commissioner on the Housing Finance Agency Board of Directors and a past president of the Southwest Regional Child Support Association.
She is registered as a Democrat.
