Hon. Kemba Johnson Lewis is a judge for the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Rick Scott in 2016, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. J. Thomas McGrady.
The 6th Judicial Circuit encompasses Pasco County and Pinellas County.
Prior to her appointment, Lewis was an assistant public defender with the Office of the Public Defender for the 6th Judicial Circuit, a position she held since 2002.
She received bachelor’s degrees from the University of South Florida and Mercer University. Lewis went on to complete a J.D. at Barry University, Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law, in 2002.
At the time of her appointment, she resided in Land O’Lakes, Florida.
