The Hon. Katherine C. McCollam is a judge for the 31st Judicial District Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court of Virginia. She was elected to the bench by the Virginia General Assembly in 2022.
The 31st Judicial District encompasses Prince William County.
Prior to her election, McCollam was a partner at Foster McCollam, a law firm she joined in 2016. Before that, she spent time as a sole practitioner in her own private practice, representing clients before the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court (2015).
McCollam earned a bachelor’s degree from James Madison University in 2004. She then completed a J.D. at the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, in 2010.
After graduating from law school, McCollam began her legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Lon E. Farris of the 31st Judicial Circuit Court. She served in that capacity until 2011, at which time she entered into private practice at the Law Office of Maureen A. Kersey.
Born and raised in Northern Virginia, McCollam attended Chantilly High School.
