The Hon. June Berry Darensburg is a judge for the 24th Judicial District Court of Louisiana. She was elected to the bench on April 1, 2006, and re-elected in 2008, 2014, and 2020.
The 24th Judicial District encompasses Jefferson Parish.
Darensburg earned a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Xavier University of Louisiana in 1985. She spent the next few years working as a pharmacist before completing a J.D. at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 1994.
After graduating from law school, Darensburg worked as an attorney in private practice, some of which as an associate at the LeBlanc Butler Firm. She specialized in products liability and insurance defense matters, supplementing her practice with service to the Jefferson Parish Indigent Defender Board.
Her memberships have included the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, the National Association of Women Judges, the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Louisiana Judicial Council, the Jefferson Bar Association, the Louis A. Martinet Society, and the Louisiana Pharmacy Association. She has also been involved with the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, the Westwego Rotary Club, and the Leadership Jefferson Task Force.
Raised in Metairie, Louisiana, Darensburg attended Grace King High School.
She is registered as a Democrat.
