The Hon. Juana M. Lombard is a magistrate for the Orleans Parish Criminal District Court of Louisiana. She was elected to the bench in 2020.
Lombard received a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University. She then completed a J.D. at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.
Lombard spent the bulk of her legal career managing her own law firm, where she handled criminal, civil, domestic, and juvenile matters. She also served as a licensed mediator with Mediation Arbitration Professional Systems, and she supplemented her practice as a public interest attorney and commissioner. During that time, Lombard was a staff attorney for the Orleans Parish Indigent Defender Program and the Capitol Defense Project of Southeast Louisiana, and she served on the Orleans Indigent Defender Parish Criminal Conflict Panel and the Federal Conflict Panel. In addition, she spent six years as a commissioner for the Orleans Parish Criminal District Court (2010 to 2016) and was a commissioner of the Louisiana Alcohol and Tobacco Control for Governor Edwards (2016 to 2019).
Lombard served on the DWI Task Force, the Drug Policy Task Force, and the Human Trafficking Commission. She was also involved with the Governor’s Children’s Cabinet.
Lombard and her husband, Darren, have five children and several grandchildren. She is a native of New Orleans East.
She is registered as a Democrat.
