The Hon. Jennifer L. Guillot Womble is a judge for the Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court in Louisiana. She was elected to the bench on January 27, 2023, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Ann Murry Keller.
Prior to her election, Womble was an assistant public defender for the Jefferson Parish Public Defender’s Office, where she represented children and indigent parents.
Womble earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Tulane University in 1994. She then completed a J.D. at Tulane University School of Law in 1997. As a law student, she served as a member of the Tulane University Juvenile Law Clinic.
She is licensed to practice in Louisiana (1998) and New York (1998).
After graduating from law school, Womble began her legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Kernan “Skip” Hand of the 24th Judicial District Court of Louisiana. She subsequently entered into private practice, handling adoptions, Child in Need of Care, termination, and delinquency matters.
Her memberships have included the National Association of Counsel for Children, the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the Jefferson Bar Association. She has also been involved with the Jefferson Parish Extra Mile, and she has served on the Louisiana Republican State Central Committee.
She is a recipient of the Crime Fighter Advocate of the Year Award from Crimefighters and the Blackstone Award from the Louisiana Public Defender.
A life-long resident of Metairie, Louisiana, Womble attended St. Edward’s the Confessor School and Mount Carmel Academy. She and husband, John, have four children. John is a practicing attorney in Jefferson Parish.
She is registered as a Republican.
