The Hon. H. Jim Davidson (Ret.) served as a chancellor for the 14th Chancery Court District of Mississippi. Davidson was elected to the bench in 2006. He retired at the conclusion of his term on December 31, 2018.
The 14th Chancery District encompasses Chickasaw, Clay, Lowndes, Noxubee, Oktibbeha, and Webster Counties.
Davidson earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Mississippi in 1971. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1974.
After graduating from law school, Davidson entered into private practice. He worked in that capacity for thirty-five years, supplementing his practice with service as a tenured professor at the Mississippi University for Women.
His memberships have included the Mississippi Bar Foundation, the Lowndes County Bar Association, and the Mississippi Bar Association. He has also been involved with the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science Foundation, the Lowndes Foundation, and the Lowndes County Economic Development Association.
