The Hon. Fred T. Crifasi is a judge for the 19th Judicial District Court of Louisiana. He was elected to the bench in 2018.
The 19th Judicial District includes East Baton Rouge Parish. Crifasi has presided over the Criminal Docket as well as the Reentry Court Program, an avenue for defendants to complete the Louisiana Workforce and Labor Development Program and receive training and certification in a trade.
Crifasi received a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in 1986. He then completed a J.D. at Louisiana State University, Paul M. Hebert Law Center, in 1992.
Crifasi worked in private practice for more than twenty-five years before his election to the bench.
He is a past president of the Baton Rouge Bar Association.
Crifasi received the Pro Bono Publique Award from the Louisiana State Bar Association in 2004.
He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he attended Redemptorist High School. In his free time, Crifasi enjoys cooking outdoors, LSU sports, traveling, and gardening. Growing up, he earned the nickname “red-headed Fred” from his father, and the nickname, shortened to, Fred, stuck. His real name is Timothy Daniel Crifasi.
Crifasi is registered as a Republican.
