The Hon. Divani R. Nadaraja is a judge for the 19th Judicial District Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court of Virginia in Fairfax County. She was appointed to the bench in 2023.
Nadaraja previously sat as a substitute judge for the 19th Judicial District Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court since 2021.
She was also a partner at Feldesman, Tucker, Leifer, Fidell, LLP (2022 to 2023), where her practice focused on family law matters. Before joining the firm, Nadaraja was a senior attorney at Powell Radomsky, PLLC (2021), an attorney at ShounBach (2012 to 2018), and a domestic violence attorney at Legal Services of Northern Virginia (2008 to 2012).
Nadaraja received a B.A. in psychology, history, and South Asian studies from the University of Pennsylvania in 2003. She then completed a J.D. at George Washington University School of Law in 2007.
Her memberships include the Virginia State Bar, the Fairfax Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the South Asian Bar Association, and the Fairfax Juvenile and Domestic Relations Committee. Nadaraja is also co-founder of the SAPAN Institute, a nonprofit performance arts organization focused on supporting South Asian music, dance, and theater.
She is the daughter of Dr. Raveendra Nadaraja and Dr. Iswara Gowri Nadaraja, immigrants from Sri Lanka. Nadaraja is also the granddaughter of the late Arunachalam Subramaniam, a well-known attorney in Sri Lanka.
She is a married mother to three children.
