The Hon. Derrick D. Kee (Ret.) is a former judge for the 14th Judicial District Court of Louisiana in Calcasieu Parish. He was elected to the bench in 2020. Kee retired in 2023 to return to private practice work.
On the bench, he presided over the Re-Entry Court and Behavior Health Court.
Kee received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Grambling State University in 2000. He then completed a J.D. at Southern University Law Center in 2005. Kee was admitted to practice in Louisiana (2005) and Illinois (2009).
He was a partner at Hawkins Kee Law Group in Lake Charles and served as a public defender in Calcasieu Parish.
