The Hon. Danyelle M. Taylor is a judge for the 24th Judicial District Court of Louisiana. She was elected to the bench on December 6, 2014.
The 24th Judicial District encompasses Jefferson Parish.
Prior to her election, Taylor was an attorney in private practice, specializing in family, criminal, and personal injury matters.
Taylor earned a bachelor’s degree in government from Nicholls State University in 1991. She spent the next few years working as a paralegal before completing a J.D. at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 1996.
Her memberships have included the New Orleans Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Jefferson Bar Association, and the Jefferson Parish Family Law Association. She has also been involved with the Cornerstone Christian Center, the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, the Harvey Canal Industrial Association, the Westwego Historic Society, and the Westwego Civic Association.
Raised in Jefferson Parish, Taylor attended Our Lady of Prompt Succor School (Westwego), Concordia Lutheran School (Marrero), and L.W. Higgins High School (Marrero). She and her husband, Thomas, have three children. Thomas is a doctor of dental surgery.
