The Hon. D. Nicole Sheppard is a judge for the Orleans Parish Civil District Court of Louisiana. She was elected to the bench in 2017.
Sheppard received a bachelor’s degree from Southern University. She then completed a J.D. at Southern University Law Center.
After graduating from law school, Sheppard established her own private practice, the Sheppard Williams Law Firm, where she remained until her election to the bench. She also taught as an adjunct professor at Dillard University, Southern University at New Orleans, and Delgado Community College.
Sheppard hosted several local television talk shows, including “Real Life,” “Traffic Time,” and “Real Life: Law Edition.” She is also a former co-chair and board vice-chair of the Algiers Charter School Association.
She is registered as a Democrat.
