Hon. Carol A. Coderre is an associate judge for the Prince George’s County Circuit Court in the Seventh Judicial Circuit of Maryland. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Larry Hogan in 2021.
Prior to her appointment, Coderre was a senior associate county attorney in the Prince George’s County Office of Law since 2018. Before that, she had worked for twenty years with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office. She first joined the office as an assistant state’s attorney in 1998 and worked in that capacity until becoming a deputy state’s attorney in 2016.
Coderre also spent time as an attorney advocate for the House of Ruth Maryland (1997 to 1998), where she assisted domestic violence victims in navigating the justice system and with domestic violence prosecution.
She received a B.A. from Goucher College in 1993. Coderre went on to complete a J.D. at Boston University School of Law in 1996. She was admitted to practice in Maryland (1996) and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
Her memberships have included the Maryland State Bar Association, the Prince George’s County Bar Association (Board of Directors), and the Prince George’s County Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association of Maryland.
Coderre spent time as a volunteer for Catholic Charities, the SHARE Food Network, and the Prince George’s County Unit of the Maryland Medical Reserve Corps.
She was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
