The Hon. Bryon S. Bereano is an associate judge for the Prince George’s County District Court in Maryland. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Larry Hogan on January 21, 2021.
Prior to his appointment, Bereano was an associate judge for the Prince George’s County Circuit Court, a position to which he was named in 2020. Before that, he served as an associate judge for the Prince George’s County District Court (2016 to 2020) and an associate county attorney for the Prince George’s County Office of Law (2013 to 2016).
Bereano earned a bachelor’s degree in government from the University of Virginia in 1994. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1999. He is admitted to practice in Maryland (2000), the United States District Court for the District of Maryland (2001), and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit (2001).
After graduating from law school, Bereano began his legal career as a law clerk to the Hon. William B. Spellbring, Jr., of the Prince George’s County Circuit Court (1999 to 2000) and the Hon. Alexander Williams, Jr., of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland (2000 to 2001). He then entered into private practice, working as a litigation associate at Lerch, Early & Brewer (2001 to 2003) and Knight, Manzi, Nussbaum & LaPlaca (2003 to 2010).
His memberships have included the Maryland State Bar Association, the Prince George’s County Bar Association, the Montgomery County Bar Association, the Anne Arundel County Bar Association, and the National Association of Residential Property Managers. He also served on the Board of Governors of the Prince George’s County Child Resource Center and the Board of Directors of the Kishore Memorial Scholarship.
He is a recipient of the President’s Award from the Prince George’s County Bar Association (2015) and the Exemplary Performance Award from the Prince George’s County Office of Law (2015).
Bereano was born in Washington, D.C. He is the son of Bruce C. Bereano, a lobbyist and supporter of Governor Larry Hogan.
