Now that you have been sworn, I'd like to give you an idea about what we are here
to do.

This is a civil action for damages arising from a fall that occurred on October 14,
2017. Plaintiff, DANIEL SHELATZ stepped off the hospital roof of Defendant,
BAYFRONT HEALTH PUNTA GORDA.

Plaintiff alleges that Defendant, BAYFRONT HEALTH PUNTA GORDA, was
negligent in maintaining a section of its hospital roof and that such negligence caused him
to step off and fall from the roof. Defendant denies all allegations of negligence.
